Why We Anoint Every Board with Oil

The practice of anointing with oil goes back thousands of years. In the Bible, anointing was used to set apart people and objects for sacred purposes.

At JesuSONdeck, we continue this tradition with every board we create. After the laser engraving is complete and the finish has cured, we take each board through a simple but meaningful ceremony.

First, we inspect every detail of the work. Then, with a small amount of blessed oil, we make the sign of the cross on the board while saying a prayer for the rider.

We pray for protection—that the rider stays safe. We pray for joy—that every session brings freedom. And we pray for purpose—that the board serves as a reminder of something greater.
