Custom Skateboard Care: Making Your Board Last
Your custom JESUSONDECK board is built to ride, but with proper care, you can keep it looking fresh and performing great for years.
Storage Tips:
• Keep your board indoors when not in use. Extreme temperatures and humidity can warp the wood and affect the finish.
• Store it horizontally or hang it on a wall rack—avoid leaning it in corners where it might fall.
• Keep it out of direct sunlight for extended periods, which can fade the engraving over time.
Cleaning Your Board:
The laser-engraved surface is sealed, but it still needs gentle care:
• Use a soft, dry cloth to wipe away dust and dirt
• For stubborn spots, slightly dampen the cloth—never soak the wood
• Avoid harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners
• Clean your grip tape separately with a grip gum or soft brush
Protecting the Engraving:
• The clear coat we apply protects the artwork, but deep scratches can still occur
• Consider adding rail guards if you do a lot of slides
• Touch up any chips in the clear coat with a small brush and polyurethane
When to Replace:
Even the best-maintained boards eventually need replacing:
• Significant warping or twisting
• Multiple pressure cracks in the deck
• Delamination (layers separating)
• Loss of pop (the board feels dead)
Remember, scratches and wear marks tell the story of your sessions. A well-ridden board is a badge of honor. But if you want to preserve a special piece, consider getting two—one to ride hard and one to keep pristine.
Skate hard, maintain smart.
