Behind the Laser: How We Create Your Custom Designs
Every JESUSONDECK board starts as a blank canvas and ends as a one-of-a-kind work of art. Here's a behind-the-scenes look at how we turn your vision into reality.
Step 1: Design Preparation
When you submit your order โ whether it's AI-generated art, a scripture verse, a custom photo, or one of our signature designs โ our team reviews every detail. We optimize the image for laser engraving, adjusting contrast, line weight, and composition to ensure it translates beautifully to wood.
Step 2: Material Selection
We source high-quality maple decks built to ride. Each blank is inspected for straightness, pop, and surface quality. Wall art pieces may use alternative woods for a richer grain pattern.
Step 3: The Laser Process
Our CO2 laser operates at precise power levels to burn the design into the wood surface. The depth, speed, and intensity are calibrated for each image. Detailed portraits require different settings than bold scripture text. A typical deck takes 45 minutes to 2 hours of laser time.
Step 4: Finishing
After engraving, we sand any rough edges and apply our signature finish: anointing oils of Frankincense and Myrrh, sealed with Spar Urethane (Gloss). This isn't just for protection โ it's a meaningful step. Frankincense and Myrrh were gifts to Jesus, and the spar urethane gloss provides a durable, water-resistant seal.
Step 5: Anointing and Prayer
Every single board is prayed over before it ships. We anoint it with oil, making the sign of the cross, and pray for the rider's safety, joy, and purpose.
Step 6: Quality Check and Ship
Final inspection ensures every detail is perfect. Then we pack it carefully and ship it to your door.
The result: a skateboard that's more than a product. It's a testament of faith, craftsmanship, and intention.
